Aristotle
of Stagira
If it had a name, he classified it. Aristotle (384–322 BCE) studied everything: logic, biology, ethics, politics, metaphysics, meteorology — and that’s just before dinner. Student of Plato, tutor to Alexander, and founder of the Lyceum, he left a library of treatises that shaped Western thought more than most empires did. He wanted to know what things are, why they exist, and how they change — and wrote enough to keep everyone arguing forever. Big mind. Bigger questions.
